This week was 48 miles of running, 17 "miles" of pool-running and 2000 yards of swimming -- training log is here.
Not much to report here, other than the race that was already covered elsewhere. I do note that I probably ran my 800s a bit too fast on Tuesday, so I'll be pulling back on the pace of that workout next week.
I have plans to race a road mile next Friday, assuming the weather's good (and right now it does look good).
Monday: Yoga and 8 "miles" pool-running in the morning. Foam rolling at night.
Tuesday: 12 miles, including a track workout of 6x800, 2x200 in 3:01, 2:58, 2:56, 2:55, 2:55, 2:53, 38, 38. Followed with leg strengthwork and 1000 yards recovery swimming. Foam rolling at night.
Wednesday: 7 miles very easy (9:02), plus drills and strides. Then upper body weights/core. Later another 3 miles (8:17). Foam rolling at night.
Thursday: DIY yoga and 9 "miles" pool-running in the morning. Foam rolling at night.
Friday: 8 miles, with one mile at around 10 mile effort (6:16). Foam rolling at night.
Saturday: 4 miles very easy (8:34), plus drills, 2 hill strides, DIY yoga, and foam rolling .
Sunday: 4 mile warm-up, 5K race in 19:05 (6:11/6:07/6:47 for last 1.11); 3 mile cool-down. Later, did another 4 miles (8:40) and then 1000 yards recovery swimming. Foam rolling at night.
