Training log - Week ending 10/20/2019

This week was 52 miles of running, 9 "miles" of pool-running and 500 yards of swimming -- training log is here.  

Just a placeholder for race week.  Columbus went OK but not great, so I just have to move past it.


Dailies:

Monday: 6 miles very easy to yoga (9:10), yoga, 3 miles very easy to pool (8:39), drills/strides, and then 3 "miles" pool-running.  Foam rolling at night.

Tuesday: 11 miles, including a restrained track workout of 2x1600, 2x800 in 6:12, 6:08, 2:56, 2:55 (recoveries of 4:35 and 4:45 after the 1600s, 2:30 between 800s.  Followed with injury prevention work and 500 yards recovery swimming.  Foam rolling at night.

Wednesday: 7 miles very easy (9:02), drills and four uphill strides, and then DIY yoga.  Foam rolling at night.

Thursday: Light upperbody weights, core, DIY yoga and 6 "miles" pool-running in the morning.  Foam rolling at night.

Friday: 7 miles, including 1600m at 10 mile race effort (6:09).  Followed with DIY yoga.  Foam rolling in morning before flying to Columbus.

Saturday: 2 miles very easy (9:07). DIY yoga, and foam rolling. 

Sunday: just under 3 miles of warm-up, and then Columbus Half-Marathon in 1:24:08.  Flew home that evening.
